John believes that every successful investment strategy begins with a well-defined plan. At RBC Wealth Management, he utilizes WealthPlan tools to help clients articulate their goals and implement personalized strategies designed to achieve them. John takes pride in tailoring portfolio management approaches that reflect each client’s unique vision and needs.
After earning his Bachelor of Science degree with an English minor from Virginia Tech, John began his career at Scott & Stringfellow in 2002. Over two decades, he advanced through multiple roles, gaining broad expertise across the wealth management spectrum. In 2022, he joined RBC with the Miller Bowles Horn Group, where he continues to embrace a client-first, full-service wealth management philosophy.
John holds Series 7, 63, and 66 licenses. Since 2017, he has worked extensively with MoneyGuidePro and WealthPlan software, and he actively mentors colleagues on the benefits of goals-based planning. Beyond his client work, he serves as Treasurer of the Scott & Stringfellow Educational Foundation, advocating for stronger financial literacy programs in early education.
Outside of the office, John loves spending time with his wife, Meghan, their two children, Quinn and Otto, and their energetic chocolate lab, Lulu. He continues to enjoy playing and coaching soccer, having managed the same soccer club for over 20 years. He also loves traveling and exploring the many outdoor activities the Mid-Atlantic region has to offer.
