Experience
Pete began his career in the financial services industry in 2012, starting as an
intern at Northwestern Mutual. After college, Pete spent three years working
for Fidelity Investments in Denver, Colorado. At Fidelity, he gained experience
in many areas of the financial industry including brokerage trading, sales and
wealth planning.
Pete joined RBC Wealth Management in 2016 to further his professional
aspirations and focus on long-term wealth planning relationships with people
in the Cheyenne community. In addition to his financial advisor responsibilities,
Pete is the branch director for the Cheyenne and Casper RBC offices.
Licenses and designations
Pete earned his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certificate at the College of
Financial Planning. The multi-year program entails in-depth courses, training
and comprehensive examinations in all areas of financial planning, including
investments, taxes, insurance, estate and retirement planning. In addition, Pete
passed the Series 7, 66, 9 and 10 exams. He also holds life, health insurance and
annuities licenses.
Education
Pete received his Bachelor of Arts degree in exercise science from Willamette
University in Salem, Oregon, in 2011. During his time at Willamette, Pete focused
on extracurricular activities, including participation in the Sigma Chi Fraternity
and captaining the varsity men’s soccer team. After graduation, he decided
to continue his education, receiving his MBA in finance and entrepreneurship
with honors from the Atkinson Graduate School of Management at Willamette
University. While he was there, he helped run the Willamette University Angel
Fund, a student-run investing organization making investments in start-up
companies in the Pacific Northwest.
Interests
Pete is an avid fly fisherman, skier, golfer, hiker and lover of the outdoors. In
his free time, you can find him traveling with his wife, Mackenzie, or throwing
the ball to his labrador retriever, Brooks. Pete also loves rooting for the Denver
Broncos, Colorado Rockies, Colorado Avalanche and the Kansas Jayhawks.
Community involvement
Pete is focused on helping promote and enhance the Cheyenne community. He
serves on the board for the Cheyenne Boys & Girls Club, is involved with the
Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce and is a 2018 graduate of Leadership Cheyenne.
Recognition
In 2023, Pete was recognized by the Wyoming Business Report as a 30 Under
40 recipient. The Wyoming Business Report’s 30 Under 40 award recognizes
professionals in Wyoming under the age of 40 who are shaping and will
continue to shape the future of the state. Honorees were selected by a panel
based on their professional experience and achievements, as well as their
community service and charitable giving in the region. In 2024, Pete was named
to Forbes America’s Top Next-Gen Wealth Advisors list.
