Diane believes judgement, discipline and commitment are necessary when implementing well-thought-out wealth management plans. Understanding risk, proper allocation, appropriate diversification and estate considerations are critical components of Diane’s strategy. She knows each client is different and has their own concerns and goals. Working with the Open Range Wealth Management Group, Diane takes careful consideration of details, which allows her to provide well-organized service to her clients. She also stays abreast of market conditions, trends and innovations, as well as acts in the best interest of her clients. Diane provides a high-level set of skills and experience to successfully help clients accomplish their unique financial goals.
Qualifications
Diane is a senior vice president – financial advisor and member of the firm’s Senior Portfolio Director Group. Diane holds RBC Wealth Management’s internal, professional designation of Accredited Wealth Manager. This program is designed to provide financial professionals with training in advanced wealth management strategies and is offered exclusively by RBC Wealth Management to a select group of its financial advisors. This advanced-level program builds on the fundamentals of wealth management with a focus on estate planning services, insurance solutions, advanced investment strategies and business succession planning.
Diane received two Bachelor of Science degrees from the University of Wyoming. The first in finance and the second in accounting. Upon completing her second degree, she launched a career in public accounting learning both tax and audit disciplines. She transitioned careers in 1984 leaving public accounting and began working as an investment executive with A.G. Edwards and Sons. Diane joined Dain Rauscher in 1993, which became RBC Capital Markets in 2000. In addition to being a registered representative, Diane passed the Series 7, 63 and 65 exams and holds a life insurance and annuities license in the state of Wyoming.
Personal
Diane and her husband, Dan, are both natives of Cheyenne and play active roles in the Cheyenne community. Dan is a retired local attorney. Their daughter, Caroline, is a speech and language pathologist in the Cheyenne School District and her husband, Joey, is a high school math teacher at Cheyenne Central High School. Their daughter, Stephanie, and her husband, Levi, are emergency physicians in Minnesota. Dan and Diane enjoy spending time with their two granddaughters and new grandson. They are avid travelers, walkers, tennis players and music enthusiasts.
Over the years, Diane has made volunteering a central part of her life. She has volunteered as a trustee at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center (CRMC), the local medical center and as a director of the CRMC Foundation. Diane has also given her time to the Cheyenne Symphony Foundation, WinHealth Partners, the Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra, Cheyenne Chamber Singers and the local economic development board, Cheyenne LEADS. Most recently, she volunteered as an advisor with the Wyoming Congressional Awards Council and with Cheyenne Frontier Days™ W-Heels.
Diane was on the steering committee for the Cheyenne Regional Cancer Center as well as the Davis Hospice Center. These roles facilitated fundraising for both organizations. Serving for a decade as the president of CLIMB Wyoming, a statewide organization that supports low-income single mothers and their children, was an honor for Diane as was being awarded the President’s Volunteer Service Award formed under President George W. Bush in 2002.
