I have served in the financial industry for over 25 years with a focus on investment management and investment counseling. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Business, along with several securities licenses which include the Series 7, 63 and 65, as well as, my state life insurance license.  Additionally, I participate in RBC Wealth Management’s Portfolio Focus Program, where only a select group of RBC Wealth Management Financial Advisors are eligible.
In addition, I hold the professional designation of Accredited Wealth Manager (AWM) sponsored through RBC Wealth Management and Michigan State University. Accredited by the Estate and Wealth Strategies Institute at Michigan State University, the coursework was designed in conjunction with the Academy of Multidisciplinary Practice, Inc. The Academy was founded by Robert A. Esperti and Renno L. Peterson, nationally and internationally recognized authorities in the fields of wealth, estate, and charitable planning for the highly affluent.

I am a strong supporter of community responsibility and tend to favor the arts and organizations that contribute to the education of future generations. Activities include serving last fifteen years on the Board of Directors for Women Employed, a Chicago-based women advocacy organization whose mission is to improve the economic status and opportunity for women and remove barriers to economic equality . Also previously, served on the Board of Directors for Rush Hour Concerts, which provides free weekly concerts through their Summer Concert Series at St. James Cathedral, Hosts of Make Music Chicago, as well as Community Engagement Residencies at two of Chicago communities. Other community activities include serving on the benefit committee for the Renaissance Society at the University of Chicago; and past board of directors for a former Chicago art magazine.
I reside in Palos Heights and have three children. Besides volunteering and being involved in the community, I enjoy reading, walking, and Chicago’s many arts and theater venues.

James Meyer

"Following my graduation from Miami University of Ohio IN 1962 with a degree in accounting, I began my career as a stock broker with Butler Wick & Co. in my hometown, Youngstown, Ohio.  In 1974 I moved to Cleveland and joined the brokerage firm of Smith Barney. In 1984 me and my family moved to Chicago where I continued in my career as a stock broker at William Blair & Co.  I later moved to Bear Stearns and later to Lehman Bros. Following the collapse of Lehman Bros, I joined RBC Wealth Management. My specialty is investing in growth stocks for my clients and for myself. "

Jim is a Trustee of the Boys & Girls Club at the Union League Club where he previously served as Chairman of the B&G Club Finance Committee. He is also a longtime Trustee of the Chicago Children's Choir, and is a Life Trustee of the Luminarts Cultural Foundation. He is a supporter of young artists in the fields of visual arts and music.

Jim has been married to his college sweetheart Ginger Fox Meyer for 57 years. They have three children and seven grandchildren.

Tyler Klein

Tyler graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the spring of 2019. He received both a Bachelor’s of Science in Economics and Personal Finance, as well as a minor in Entrepreneurship. He started his career as an intern for RBC and accepted a full time position as a client associate in August of 2019. Tyler has passed both the Series 7 and 66 exam.

When he is not working, Tyler enjoys traveling, going to concerts or sporting events, and playing basketball. During his junior year he spent 4 months studying in Prague and was able to travel to over 10 different countries in Europe. He was also a member of the largest student run philanthropy in the history of Wisconsin, where he helped raise over $100,000 for the Midwest Athletes Against Cancer (MAAC) Fund.
