Stefen started his career in the financial services industry in 1993 because of his passion for investment analysis. He listens to clients and seeks to understand their concerns, then applies wealth management strategies designed to benefit them for today and tomorrow. Stefen enjoys the heritage of wealth—how it was created—and the development of stewardship that comes with it.
His first job in the financial services industry was in the operations department at Dain Bosworth, which eventually became RBC Wealth Management. He held positions with treasury operations, margins, commission accounting and RBC Wealth Management’s Private Client Group mutual funds for several years. Then he worked for Fortis Financial in mutual fund marketing for a year, before coming back to RBC Wealth Management as a financial advisor in 1999, passing the Series 7, 66 and 67 exams.
Stefen has a Bachelor of Arts degree in financial economics from Gustavus Adolphus College and he holds RBC Wealth Management’s Accredited Wealth Management designation. Stefen and his wife, Kari, have been married for more than 25 years and they have three adult daughters, Callie, Anna and Linsie, a dog, Ted, and a tomcat, Louis.
In his free time, Stefen lives for the outdoors. He duck and pheasant hunts in western Minnesota with his dad and enjoys fishing with friends and clients for walleyes on Lake of the Woods and salmon on Lake Michigan. He enjoys running, reading and doing his best to stay fit. His favorite activity is being alone with a hot cup of coffee and a book when the world is waking up. Kari and Stefen also are active participants as spectators of high school sports and volunteers in the community of Hudson.
