Chris is an investment advisor representative, focused on helping families and organizations define what is most important for them and structuring a plan to succeed. Based on the fiduciary focus of many of the our services, and to further ensure that your portfolio assets are being managed in keeping with sound investment practices, he received the Accredited Investment Fiduciary designation in 2006 and the following year earned RBC’s internal, professional designation of Accredited Wealth Manager (AWM). The AWM certification program, sponsored by RBC Wealth Management and Michigan State University, required completion of a core curriculum as well as ongoing, continuing education to maintain the designation. The educational content required for the designation provides advanced knowledge of the firm’s wealth management process, concentrating in the areas of business and retirement planning, insurance solutions, charitable giving, advanced investment strategies, and estate and trust planning concepts.
Chris received a Bachelor of Science degree in consumer science from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and has passed the Series 7, 63 and 65 securities exams. He is licensed to provide life insurance, annuities and long-term care.
Prior to joining RBC Wealth Management Chris played professional hockey. He is an eight-time all-star and, as a financial advisor with RBC Wealth Management, brings the same commitment to excellence in serving our clients. The Tancill family—wife, Jill, and their three children, Megan, Jack and Nicholas—are residents of Madison, Wisconsin. A career in professional sports provided the family the opportunity to work and travel all over the world. In his free time, Chris enjoys golfing, traveling, skiing, reading and coaching hockey.
