Grant is a founding partner of The Core Group at RBC Wealth Management, where he advises successful families, entrepreneurs and corporate executives through some of the most important financial decisions of their lives. With more than three decades of experience, Grant is known for combining investment insight with the perspective of a trusted family financial advisor—helping clients navigate wealth creation, liquidity events, multigenerational planning and the complexities that come with significant success.
Grant co-founded The Core Group alongside Alex Sugar in 1995. Since then, the team has grown into one of RBC Wealth Management’s leading advisory practices, serving ultra-high-net-worth families, business owners and executives across the country. Under Grant’s leadership, The Core Group is commited to delivering thoughtful planning, disciplined investment management and highly personalized service that extends beyond traditional wealth management, helping coordinate the moving parts of a client’s financial life while acting as a steady sounding board during both opportunities and periods of uncertainty. His experience spans business succession planning, concentrated stock management, alternative investments, family legacy planning, charitable strategies and customized portfolio construction designed to align wealth with purpose.
Grant’s passion for markets and economics began early. Long before entering the industry, he developed an obsession with understanding global events, investor psychology and the forces that shape long-term wealth creation—a curiosity that still drives his investment process today.
Beyond his professional work, Grant is deeply committed to philanthropy and community impact. He serves as treasurer and a founding board member of ManifestWorks a nonprofit focused on helping individuals affected by homelessness transition into stable employment and long-term self-sufficiency. He is particularly passionate about initiatives centered on education, mentorship and creating pathways to opportunity.
Grant and his wife, Virginia, have been married for more than 25 years and are proud parents of two sons. Outside the office, he enjoys fitness, cycling, reading, sports, faith and spending time with family. He believes true wealth is measured not only by financial success, but by health, relationships, purpose and the ability to positively impact others.
