Gary has been providing wealth management planning and advice for families, nonprofit organizations, and small businesses for the past 30 years. He started his career in the financial industry in 1993 with Merrill Lynch, where he started as a customer service representative and worked his way up to first operating manager in their asset relocation district. During Gary’s tenure on Wall Street in New York, he worked with all the major financial firms to create and implement the Automated Transfer Account System (ACATS) that is still used today to transfer assets between financial firms. At the time it was a major advancement in the financial industry as it reduced transfer times from 31 days or more down to seven.
In 2006, Gary wanted to expand his horizons and work directly with the clients he was assisting, so he pursued a career as a Financial Wealth Management Advisor. He left Merrill Lynch and was recruited by JP Morgan Chase to provide Financial Advice for their clients. Since pursuing this career move in 2006, Gary has helped small business owners, private clients, and 401(k) participants through tax management, investment, and distribution strategies prepare for their retirement and help them meet their investment expectations.
Gary is an active volunteer in his community, having donated his time to several organizations, including Rock Canyon High School Feeder Teams, Special Olympics, the Wildlife Conservation of New York and the Children’s Hospital.
Gary received his degree in mathematics from the University of Colorado in Boulder. He holds the Chartered Retirement Plan Counselor®, The Chartered Retirement Plan Specialist®, The Accredited Investment Fiduciary®, The Certified Health Savings Advisor® designations and his Financial Planning Certificate from Kaplan University.
Outside of work, Gary enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf and rooting for Colorado sports teams as well as Western Kentucky University, and the Texas Longhorns. They are all schools and organizations that his son worked for over the years on the football staff as part of his career. He also enjoys cheering on the Atlanta Falcons.
