Tim joined RBC Wealth Management in 2009 following the merger with Ferris Baker Watts. He brings more than 35 years of experience helping individuals, families, and businesses pursue their financial goals with confidence through personalized planning and asset management.
For over a decade, Tim has been named to RBC Wealth Management’s President’s Council or Director’s Council, a recognition of excellence as one of the firm’s top financial advisors. In 2022, he received the AdvisorHub "Advisors to Watch" award. As a member of the firm’s Portfolio Focus program, Tim is part of a group of RBC Wealth Management financial advisors recognized for their success in building fee-based discretionary portfolios. Tim has passed the Series 7, 9, 10, 24, 63, and 65 securities exams, as well as being licensed in annuity, life, and health insurance.
A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor's degree in economics, Tim began his career as a financial consultant with American Express Financial Advisors, where he was quickly promoted to training manager for new recruits in the Pittsburgh region. In 1994, he founded Summit Investment Service, which became the fully licensed broker-dealer Summit Investment Group in 1995. Following the firms acquisition by Gruntal & Co. in 1998, Tim served as First Vice President before joining Ferris Baker Watts in Cumberland, Maryland, in 2004.
Originally from Chicago Heights, Illinois, Tim and his wife, Marlee, moved to the Cumberland area in 2004. Outside of the office, Tim is active in the community as a member of the Allegany Arts Council and is an avid car enthusiast.
