Qualifications
After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor’s degree in economics, Tim began his career as a financial consultant with American Express Financial Advisors and was soon promoted to training manager for new recruits in the Pittsburgh region.
In 1994, Tim founded his own investment firm, Summit Investment Service, which became fully licensed broker-dealer Summit Investment Group in 1995. The firm was purchased by Gruntal & Co. in 1998, and Tim joined Gruntal as first vice president. Tim moved to Ferris Baker Watts Cumberland Maryland in 2004 as first vice president. He was named to his current position as a financial advisor of RBC Wealth Management’s Cumberland, Maryland, location in 2009 as a part of the merger of Ferris Baker Watts with RBC Wealth Management.
Tim passed the Series 7, 9, 10, 24, 31, 63 and 65 securities exams. He also holds licenses for life, health and accident insurance and has more than 30 years of financial experience.
Tim was named to RBC Wealth Management’s 2025 President’s Council, a recognition of excellence and achievements as one of the firm’s top financial advisors. Tim has been a member of the Director’s Council or President’s Council for more than a decade. In 2022, he received the AdvisorHub “Advisors to Watch” award.
Personal
Tim was born in Chicago Heights, Illinois. He and his wife, Marlee, moved to the Cumberland area in 2004. Tim is active in the community as a member of the Allegany Arts Council and is an avid car enthusiast.
