Scott consults with clients to design long term, personalized investment strategies solving specific life and retirement problems. He specializes in the equity and fixed income elements of portfolio construction.
Scott has worked in the financial industry since joining RBC Wealth Management in 1993. He has passed the Series 7, 63, and 65 exams and holds his life, disability, and long term care insurance licenses. He also holds the Accredited Wealth Manager designation, an RBC advanced planning designation through the Academy of Multidisciplinary Practice, Inc. and the Estate & Wealth Strategies Institute at Michigan State University. As an Accredited Wealth Manager, Scott possesses an advanced knowledge of key wealth management strategies that may be important to high net worth clients, including investments, retirement planning, insurance, charitable giving, and estate planning services, including business succession solutions. Scott graduated from North Dakota State University in 1985 with a BS degree in Mathematics and has served on their Alumni Association board of directors while also coordinating local NDSU themed events.
Scott encourages the success of entrepreneurs, small business, and economic development in Rochester by being active with the Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce and Rochester Area Economic Development Inc. Over his career, Scott has held many volunteer positions with United Way of Olmsted County including treasurer, board member, and campaign chair. Other community involvement has included Sertoma, Community Youth Mentorship Program, his church, Journey to Growth, Rochester Golf & Country Club, and ad hoc committees for the Rochester School District.
For relaxation, he enjoys golf, NDSU sports, traveling, and reading. Scott has two grown children and four grandchildren.
