Bruce has over 25 years of investment experience. He began working at Sutro & Co., now RBC Wealth Management, in 1997 after working for more than a decade in higher education. He earned bachelor’s degrees in both business economics and religious studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara and then completed an MBA at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. In 2006, he earned the firm’s internal, professional designation of Accredited Wealth Manager (AWM) through an education program sponsored by RBC Wealth Management and Michigan State University. By attaining the AWM designation, Bruce has demonstrated advanced knowledge of the firm’s wealth management process, concentrating in the areas of two business and retirement planning, insurance solutions, charitable giving, advanced investment strategies, and estate and trust planning strategies. He is a member of RBC Wealth Management President’s Council. He holds the Series 7, 31, 63 and 65 licenses as well as a California insurance license including a special appointment in long-term care.
Bruce resides in Lafayette with his wife, Linda, and son, Samuel. Bruce has also been a freelance writer authoring numerous articles for newspapers, magazines and online publications. He is a member of RBC Wealth Management’s Minority Employees Association (MEA). He enjoys sports, reading and travel.
