Mike brings a relationship orientation to his clients, leveraging RBC Wealth Management’s resources and intellectual capital to provide research, investment advice and execution. The Nolan Group process begins with a thorough understanding of the unique needs and goals of each client. Once gathered, Mike and his group take a holistic approach to develop a customized solution, buttressed by the firm’s thought leadership and investment services.
Mike was born and raised on a farm in upstate New York, where he learned about small business when he started a vegetable crop operation. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural economics from Cornell University in 1977. Mike worked in marketing and sales for IBM after college.
Mike began his Wall Street career with Goldman Sachs in 1982 after which he spent seven years at Morgan Stanley. In 1991 Mike joined Bear Stearns, rising to senior managing director. In 2008, Bear Stearns was acquired by J.P. Morgan, eventually becoming J.P. Morgan Wealth Management. He joined RBC Wealth Management in late 2022. Mike has more than 40 years of experience on Wall Street, and splits his time between the Nolan Group’s New York and Conshohocken offices.
Mike and his wife of 41 years, Alexandra, relocated to Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania in 2018. There he enjoys bicycling, racquet sports, reading, competing in sporting clays and occasionally traveling to his farm in upstate New York to play farmer. Mike is presently Treasurer for the Philadelphia Society for Promoting Agriculture and remains an advisory board member of the Ithaca Science Center.
