DJ specializes in wealth management for high-net-worth individuals and their families. He joined RBC Wealth Management® as the branch director of the Shrewsbury, New Jersey, office in 2007. He moved that office in 2009 to its current location on Newman Springs Road in Red Bank. With extensive experience managing individual high-net-worth portfolios, DJ is a proven business executive with 20-plus years of experience in wealth management.

A 1988 graduate of the Citadel Military College in Charleston, South Carolina, DJ began his career in the financial services industry at Smith Barney and its predecessors in 1991.

DJ obtained the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) designation in 2002 from the Wharton School of Business. The CIMA® certification is held by a very small percentage of financial consultants who undergo extensive training in order to receive it. The rigorous CIMA® certification process sharply honed his skills and expertise, allowing DJ to work even more closely with his clients to establish realistic objectives, evaluate compatible investment philosophies, and pursue the appropriate investment strategies that meet their ongoing financial and lifestyle needs. DJ has been a member of the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA) since 2002. He also has passed the Series 3, 7, 9, 10, 63 and 65 exams and is licensed to provide insurance in New Jersey, Illinois, Pennsylvania, New York and Texas.

DJ is part of RBC Wealth Management’s Portfolio Focus program, a personalized portfolio management program for which only a select group of RBC Wealth Management’s financial advisors qualify. In 2009, DJ earned the Accredited Wealth Manager designation through an education program sponsored by RBC Wealth Management from the Academy of Multidisciplinary Practice, Inc. and the Estate & Wealth Strategies Institute at Michigan State University. This program is only offered to proven experienced financial advisors. Recipients of this certification are recognized for their advanced knowledge in the specialty areas of investment strategies, insurance, estate planning, charitable giving, business succession solutions, and retirement planning.

In 2012, DJ was given the honor of being named one of the Top 100 Branch Directors by On Wall Street.

During 2013, DJ successfully completed financial planning coursework and passed the CFP® Certification Examination, earning the designation of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™. The CFP® marks identify those individuals who have met the rigorous experience and ethical requirements of the CFP Board covering the following areas: the financial planning process, risk management, investments, tax planning and management, retirement and employee benefits, and estate planning. CFP® professionals also agree to meet ongoing continuing education requirements and to uphold CFP Board’s Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility, Rules of Conduct, and Financial Planning Practice Standards.

DJ’s professional accomplishments and niche expertise serve him well. He integrates his strong background as a financial advisor into the trusted and personal relationships he has built with his clients and their families for over two decades. In addition, DJ’s business acumen and tested leadership has led him to the branch management position he now holds at RBC Wealth Management.

An active and dedicated member of his community, DJ serves on the Board of Trustees for The First Tee of The Jersey Shore, of which he is a past president. DJ is an avid golfer. He lives in Tinton Falls with his wife, Trish, and two daughters, Taylor and Nicole.
