David began working in the financial services industry in 1991 at Sutro & Co., now RBC Wealth Management. While serving a six-year tour in the U.S. Air Force, he worked and studied communications, electronic and mechanical engineering through The College of the Air Force and University of Michigan. David graduated from California State University, Sacramento with a Bachelor of Arts degree in both business administration and finance. He earned the Advanced Wealth Manager (AWM) designation at RBC Wealth Management through Michigan State University, where he studied advanced wealth management, concentrating in the areas of business and retirement planning, insurance solutions, charitable giving, advanced investment strategies and estate and trust planning strategies. David has extensive direct, hands-on and consulting experience in business development and management of small businesses. He passed the Series 7, 63 and 65 exams and holds a California insurance license. David is also a member of RBC Wealth Management’s Fixed Income Advisory Council, The RBC Community Engagement Board and RBC Wealth Management’s Chairman’s Council.
David is a member of the Blackhawk Country Club and the PGA West Country Club, past president of the Oakland Executive Association, former treasurer of the Oakland Kiwanis and member of the Golden Gate Wine Society, the Keiretsu Forum, Live Oak Lodge Masons of California and the Northern California Scholarship Foundation. David loves providing charitable services for many local organizations. David lives in Danville with his wife, Nicole and their two children.
