Carroll was born and raised in Westminster. In 1968, he graduated from Western Maryland College, now McDaniel College, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics.
Carroll started his financial career as a Registered Representative with Baker, Watts, & Co. in 1970 and advanced to become a partner in 1987. He and former colleague Bill Kelly opened the first brokerage office in Westminster in 1976.
Currently, Carroll is a member of the firm’s President’s Council and holds his series 7, 63, 65, and Maryland Insurance licenses.
He has been and continues to be an active member in the community, serving as past chairman of The Lung Association of North Central Maryland, the YMCA of Carroll County, and Carroll County Student Grant Program at McDaniel College. Carroll was a former board member of The New Windsor State Bank, retiring after 28 years of service. He is a trustee at McDaniel College and is President of the Davis Library, Inc. Charitable Fund.
Carroll resides in Westminster with his wife Sue. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf, skiing, motorcycling, jet skiing, and traveling to North Myrtle Beach.
