Nico Sacchetti, CPWA®

Senior Vice President - Financial Advisor, Senior Portfolio Manager

Nico joined the True North Investment Group in 2017 after managing a solo practice in RBC Wealth Management’s St. Paul office. He brings extensive experience managing client portfolios, researching and discovering undervalued investment ideas that coincide with our contrarian investment philosophy.

In anticipation of our investment advisory industry’s increased focus on a fiduciary standard, Nico acquired the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® designation in 2018. Nico was named to the Forbes Best-In-State Next-Gen Wealth Advisors list in 2023, 2024 and 2026 and AdvisorHub’s Advisors to Watch in 2023.

Nico graduated from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota with a bachelor’s degree in finance. He played Division I hockey for the Gophers and was a four-time selection for the Academic All-Big Ten. Before joining RBC Wealth Management, he played hockey professionally in Europe for four seasons.

A Minnesota native, Nico grew up on the Iron Range in northern Minnesota and currently resides in North Oaks with his wife, Casey, daughter, Josie, and two dogs. He is an avid outdoorsman and spends free time hunting, fishing and golfing.

Dan joined the True North Investment Group in 2019 after working at an investment firm in Chicago. His in-depth knowledge and experience with mutual funds, ETFs and fixed income allow him to provide unique solutions to help meet clients’ investment needs.

Within the True North team, Dan is the big-picture planner and risk manager. He is the person you call if you’re looking to retire and need to convert your wealth to income. Dan is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) professional and a Retirement Management Analyst (RMA). These designations demonstrate his advanced knowledge of wealth management and retirement income issues. His areas of expertise include retirement income strategies, strategic portfolio management, risk management, and wealth transfer strategies. Dan was named to the Forbes Best-In-State Next Gen Wealth Advisors list in 2026, as well as AdvisorHub’s Advisors to Watch in 2026.

Dan earned his Bachelor of Science degree in finance from the Heider College of Business at Creighton University. He was selected to be among a handful of students who managed a portion of the university’s endowment fund. Dan grew up in Stillwater, Minnesota, and currently lives in White Bear Lake with his wife, Laura, daughters, Olivia and Emma, and golden retriever, Keeley. His volunteer activities include Habitat for Humanity, Second Harvest Heartland, and Blood Cancer United (formerly the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society). In his free time, he enjoys the outdoors, soccer, golf, tennis and skiing.

Sean joined the True North Investment Group in 2025 with 3 years of experience in the financial services industry. Sean was brought on as an Investment Associate and brings operational support to the team, as well as prior experience trading managed portfolios. Sean has always enjoyed supporting clients with their financial needs and strives for the utmost level of service.

After graduating from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln with a bachelor's degree in finance, Sean completed his Series 7 & 66 exams. Sean and his fiancé live in St Louis Park, and he enjoys all Minnesota sports, fishing, golf, and time at the lake.

Renee Woodford

Renee has worked in the financial services industry for more than 20 years, and joined RBC Wealth Management in 2014. Within the True North Investment Group, she provides operational support to the team, and strives to provide outstanding and timely service to our clients. Renee has passed the FINRA Series 7 and 66 exams, holds insurance licenses and can place orders for clients.

A Minnesota native, Renee lives in Champlin with her husband. She enjoys staying active and spending time with family and friends.

Tarah Sondeland

Tarah joined the True North Investment Group with 10 years of business operations experience across emerging industries, including biotechnology and agriculture. Her interdisciplinary background brings unique qualities to support clients, business owners, and advisors with tailored, high-touch service. Tarah holds a bachelor's degree in Individualized Studies from the University of Minnesota and is currently preparing to sit for her Series 7 and 66 license exams.

Tarah grew up in Minnesota and lives with her fiancé in Crystal, MN. She enjoys snowboarding, gardening native plants, going to concerts, and visiting the Boundary Waters/Michigan Upper-Peninsula.
