Dave Walter has more than 40 years of financial advisory services experience. From the very beginning of his career, Dave has taken a deep and abiding interest in the individuals and families for whom he provides financial guidance, building and nurturing close relationships. Through the years his enthusiasm to help his clients succeed and realize their financial goals has only grown. It has earned him a place on the RBC Wealth Management Chairman’s Council that recognizes the firm’s premier financial advisors.
Dave also completed a course of study at the Security Industry Institute at the Wharton School of Business, sponsored by the Securities Industry Association. He passed the Series 7 and 66 exams and is licensed for health, life insurance and annuities.
Dave attended the University of Maryland, majoring in psychology and business. He joined Ferris Baker Watts in 1979, served on that firm’s retail advisory board and was one of their largest shareholders. FBW became part of RBC Wealth Management in 2009.
Dave frequently appears as a lecturer, having done wealth planning, preretirement and retirement seminars over 44 years for : Department of Defense, CIA, NGA, Social Security Administration, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, UMBC Adult Education, Anne Arundel Community College Adult Education, Montgomery County Adult Education , Howard Community Adult Education and the State of Maryland.
Dave is a lifelong resident of Maryland. He grew up in Montgomery County and resides in Ellicott City with his wife, Patty, a retired oncology nurse. Dave and Patty are very proud of their three sons, David, Brian and Michael, their three daughter-in-law’s, Shannon, Kristina and Kim, and overjoyed with their seven grandchildren.
