York, known as the White Rose City, is located in South Central Pennsylvania. During the 18th Century York became the 1st Capital of the United States of America. The city has been called an “architectural museum” because downtown York features numerous well-preserved historic structures. York is home to the USA Weightlifting Hall of Fame and a large Harley- Davidson motorcycle factory that employs about half of Harley’s work force.
York has a large cultural presence with the Strand-Capitol Performing Arts Center downtown which brings many nationally acclaimed acts to the York area. The historic York Fair, which traces its roots back to 1765, runs every year and has won recognition for hosting many musical artists.
