Joel always had a fascination with compounding interest, and even won a stock-picking contest in high school—learning how companies can help create generational wealth for investors. He studied finance in college, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in public finance from Indiana University and passing the Series 7 and 66 exams. He also holds a life insurance license.
After graduation, Joel worked with Norwest Bank both as a teller and banker, Norwest Investment Services as a client associate, Norwest Corporation as an equity trader, was a founding partner for Bluesuit Online Trading, worked at Associated Financial Group and Northland Securities before taking a position as a financial advisor with Wells Fargo Advisors. He joined RBC Wealth Management in 2023, where his goal is to help provide clients with a sense of safety and security through wealth planning. He wants clients to feel the freedom that comes with financial wellness.
Outside of the office, Joel spends time volunteering with the Scouts of America. He is an Eagle Scout. He lives with his wife, Ann, and cat, Tuna. Joel loves to travel—he’s been to every continent except Antarctica. Physical fitness is important to Joel. He also enjoys good food, good wine, good beer and hanging out with good friends. Together, Joel and Ann love hiking and exploring new places
