For over 30 years, Joe has worked in the financial services industry. Beginning his career with Smith Barney, Joe worked for Interstate/Johnson Lane, Inc. and Wachovia Securities (a predecessor to Wells Fargo Advisors) before joining RBC Wealth Management in 2017. Joe has been a member of RBC’s Director’s Council since 2019. While Joe was initially drawn to the financial services industry for the independence it offered, he’s stayed in it for decades because of the relationships he’s built with clients, his passion for market analysis, and his keen ability to problem solve. Joe enjoys helping clients build their financial legacies and create customized wealth plans that help them accomplish their retirement goals. Joe holds the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor and Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor designations, and he’s passed the Series 7, 31, 63, 65 exams.
A graduate of the University of Wisconsin where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in political science, Joe completed a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Kentucky. Joe and his family have lived in Raleigh for more than 30 years and have been active members of the community. In addition to serving as President of the North Durham Rotary Club for the four years, Joe has been a four time Paul Harris Fellow and has supported Healing Transitions, the North Carolina Art Museum, and the North Carolina Food Bank. Even when he’s not working, Joe enjoys staying up to date on financial topics. He unwinds by spending time with his family, including his two sons, traveling, playing golf and tennis, and working in the yard. He’s proud that his son, Alex, has joined the team.
