Joe’s adventure in the financial world began over three decades ago, sparked by a young curiosity that first took him to Smith Barney. From there, his journey wound through Interstate/Johnson Lane, Inc. and Wachovia Securities—before it became part of Wells Fargo Advisors—until fate led him to RBC Wealth Management in 2017. What started as a draw to the freedom the industry offered soon blossomed into a lifelong passion, rooted in the deep connections he’s forged with clients, his love for unraveling market trends, and his talent for tackling even the trickiest financial puzzles. Since joining RBC’s Director’s Council in 2019, Joe has poured his heart into crafting tailored wealth plans, helping clients build legacies and step confidently into retirement. Along the way, he’s earned prestigious titles like Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor and Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor, and has passed the Series 7, 31, 63, and 65 exams.
His story began to take shape at the University of Wisconsin, where he delved into political science, earning his Bachelor of Science, before heading to the University of Kentucky for a master’s in public administration. For over 30 years, Raleigh has been his home, a place where he and his family have planted deep roots. He’s led the North Durham Rotary Club as president for four years, earning the honor of a four-time Paul Harris Fellow, and lent his support to causes close to his heart, like Healing Transitions, the North Carolina Art Museum, and the North Carolina Food Bank. Even when he’s not immersed in finances, Joe stays curious, keeping up with the latest trends. His downtime is a treasure—filled with family adventures alongside his two sons, swings on the golf course, rallies on the tennis court, and quiet moments tending his yard. And nothing fills him with more pride than watching his son, Alex, step into the family legacy and join him on this incredible journey.
