Professional qualifications
Will began his career in Houston, Texas as a credit analyst at Houston’s Citizen Bank & Trust. During his lunch breaks, he was often found reading about publicly traded companies or researching rare coins and precious metals. Will has a robust roster of experience beginning in 1977 as a senior vice president with Rotan Mosle/UBS PaineWebber. He worked at Kidder Peabody from 1991–1994 and is now with RBC Wealth Management.
Will’s Accredited Wealth Manager designation is offered in conjunction with the Esperti Peterson Institute at Michigan State University. AWM certification holders have demonstrated a commitment to their trade by attending continuing education on subjects related to broad financial planning and family wealth transfer issues. Additionally, Will passed the SIE, Series 7, 63 and 65 exams and is insurance licensed.
Personal
As a native Texan, it is natural Will has made his home in Houston for almost 50 years, with his wife, Lena, who is also a native Texan. They have two grown children, Billy and Heather, a wonderful daughter-in-law, Allison, equally terrific son-in-law, James, and the most amazing granddaughter, Ellie. Will serves on the Board of Directors for Port Bay Wetlands LLC, a private mitigation bank, and the Board of Directors for the Tri-Cities chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD). He is a former board of directors member for Harvest Natural Resources, the Bank of Almeda and Gamma Biologicals. Will is also a former limited partner and advisory director of the Houston Rockets of the National Basketball Association. He serves as chairman of the school board for Southminster Presbyterian School and an elder for Southminster Church in Missouri City
