His areas of focus include portfolio design, investment analysis, retirement strategy and plan design, trust and estate planning services, institutional investment management and philanthropic services. Prior to joining RBC Wealth Management, Steve worked at Merrill Lynch. He graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in accounting and served as a CPA. He also earned his MBA from Portland State University. Committed to professional excellence, Steve holds a number of industry designations, including the Certified Investment Management Analyst® designation awarded by the Investments & Wealth Institute™ and taught in conjunction with the Wharton School of Business. His other professional attainments include the Certified Private Wealth Advisor®, the Chartered Retirement Planning CounselorSM and the Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor designations.
Steve and his wife, Jessica, live in Portland with their son, Ryan. Steve also has two grown daughters, Kathryn and Lauren, who live in the area. A wine enthusiast, Steve enjoys traveling the world. His free time interests also include biking and skiing.
