Qualifications
With more than 40 years of industry experience, I have been through historic bull and bear markets. In that time, I have built many long-term relationships based on trust and integrity. My practice includes wealth management for individuals, as well as personal and entity trusts. I began my career as a registered representative at Merrill Lynch in 1978, moving my practice to RBC Wealth Management in 2012. I have passed the Series 7, 63 and 65 exams.
Personal
I have always been active in the greater Erie community and an advocate for charitable and civic causes in the state of Pennsylvania. I have served on the Governing Council of the Pennsylvania Society since 2006. In 2011, I was appointed Commissioner to the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (PHMC). The PHMC was founded in 1945 and is responsible for the collection, conservation and interpretation of Pennsylvania’s historic heritage. I also serve on the board of the Flagship Niagara League, dedicated to preserving the history of Great Lakes maritime battles during The War of 1812 through the replica of the tall ship Niagara, home-ported in Erie. Past affiliations include as a founding member and president of the Erie Local Preservation Organization, where I spearheaded the successful effort to save and renovate the Wright House and the Carroll House, historically significant buildings slated for demolition. I was also appointed by Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett in 2011 to the Governor’s Resident Preservation Committee; and has held board of director positions for the Erie Arts Council, the Erie Historic Society, the National Preservation Action and the Erie Art Museum. I graduated from Hollins College in 1977 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in U.S. history, along with a certificate in secondary education. Over the course of my career, I have always been committed to educating the public about investing and finance. I have been a radio talk show host; an adjunct professor at Mercyhurst University and Villa Maria; and has taught investment and management courses. A long-time resident of Erie, and in addition to my many professional and civic commitments, I have always been and will always be an avid gardener.
