Paul began his career in the investment business in 1985. He joined AG Edwards and Sons in 1987 and advised clients as senior vice president of investments. Wachovia purchased AG Edwards in 2007, which was subsequently acquired by Wells Fargo in 2008. In June 2018, Paul joined RBC Wealth Management as senior vice president of investments.
Paul passed the Series 6, 7, 31 and 63 exams. He acts as a portfolio manager under the RBC Focus platform, with most accounts ranging from $100,000 to $10 million.
Paul services a diverse group of clients, many of whom are at, or near, retirement age. He is, therefore, sensitive to the fact that the “nest egg” must be protected to sustain them through their golden years. As such, Paul regularly adjusts the risk profile of portfolios to be sure they match market conditions and client risk tolerances.
Paul takes great pride in the process he has developed, which combines a deep understanding of his clients’ needs while navigating the sometimes choppy realities of the capital and debt markets.
As he has said for years, “If you are not managing risk, you are not managing the portfolio.”
On a personal note, Paul is a family man. He has been married to his beloved wife, Karen, for 30 years. When he is not spending time with her and his three grown children, you will likely find him gardening or fishing. He is also an accomplished martial artist.
