Jeff began his career in the financial services industry in February 2000, driven by a lifelong passion to help clients with all aspects of their financial lives. As a new advisor with Edward Jones, he established an office in Boise’s North End, before founding his own independent firm in March 2008, which he operated with great pride for more than 14 years. Jeff moved his practice to RBC Wealth Management in September 2021, where he served as the branch manager for 2 years, before returning to focus solely on his clients in early 2024.
Jeff’s approach centers on leveraging RBC Wealth Management’s vast menu of global resources to create thoughtful, creative, and personalized solutions tailored to each client’s unique needs. He takes time to listen, building the framework for a deeper understanding of each client’s overall financial situation, goals, and preferences while keeping them informed about changes to the investment landscape, including opportunities such as Roth IRA conversions, qualified charitable distributions, and donor-advised funds. He especially has a passion for crafting retirement income solutions that have succeeded in a variety of different market conditions over the past 25+ years.
Jeff is magna cum laude graduate of Montana State University—Billings where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree with an emphasis in organizational leadership. He has passed the Series 7, 9, 10, 63 and 65 exams.
Jeff has a strong commitment to community service. He served four consecutive elected terms (16 years) as a member of the Garden City Council, including six years as Council President from 2006 through 2021. He also served 16 years as a Garden City urban renewal agency commissioner from 2008 to 2023, chairing the agency from 2020 through the end of his term. He is currently serving in his second four-year term as an elected commissioner for District 2 of the North Ada County Fire and Rescue District. Jeff was recognized as an inaugural recipient of the Idaho Business Review’s Excellence in Finance award in 2013. The award was based on recognized leadership in the financial services industry, employing the highest ethics and standards in dealings with the public, and measurable impacts as a member of his community.
When not working, Jeff enjoys hiking in the Boise Foothills and pursuing culinary interests while entertaining family and friends. He has been married to his wife, Kate, for 28 years and they have two adult daughters. Jeff is a devoted and passionate fan of the San Francisco Giants and Notre Dame Fighting Irish football .
