After graduating from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota with a degree in economics, Peter started in the financial services industry in 1983 with E.F. Hutton in Mesa, Arizona. Peter spent seven years with Prudential Securities before he joined RBC Wealth Management in the Scottsdale, Arizona office. In addition to helping clients with their investment needs, Peter spent a total of 11 years in the role of branch director for both the Scottsdale and Sun City offices.
He earned the firm’s internal professional designation of Accredited Wealth Manager (AWM) through an education program sponsored by RBC Wealth Management and Michigan State University. By attaining the AWM designation, Peter demonstrated advanced knowledge of the firm’s wealth management process, concentrating in the areas of business and retirement planning, insurance solutions, charitable giving, advanced investment strategies and estate planning strategies.
Peter was born and raised in Wisconsin, where his father was a Lutheran pastor and his mother a teacher. He and his wife, Christie, met at St. Olaf College and were married in 1983. They live in Scottsdale, where Christie teaches eighth-grade English/literature at Christ Lutheran School, and they have three sons, Matthew, Spencer and Tanner; and five grandchildren. Spencer joined RBC Wealth Management in 2016. Peter’s hobbies include singing in the Phoenix Symphony Chorus and staying active in his church.
