A former energy services engineer and a CPA, Allen has served a combined 17 years as a Senior Portfolio Manager and Senior Vice President and Financial Advisor at RBC Wealth Management, where he currently provides strategic financial guidance and personalized investment solutions. His career also includes notable tenures at UBS, Merrill Lynch, and Ketel Thorstenson where he served a combined 15 years establishing his reputation as a trusted advisor and branch manager in the wealth management and public accounting industries.
As a holder of the Chartered Market Technician (CMT) and Certified Portfolio Manager (CPM) designations, Allen combines technical market expertise with an acute understanding of portfolio management. As a CPA back in 1995, he subsequently earned his Certified Financial Planner (CFP--1997), underscoring his commitment to long term client-focused, comprehensive financial planning. His leadership extends to serving as a former board member of The Academy of Certified Portfolio Managers, a national professional organization based in Denver, CO, where he contributed to advancing the field of portfolio management.
Beyond his professional achievements, Allen is deeply rooted in community service. He has made a meaningful impact as a past president The Black Hills Habitat for Humanity, former Vice Chairman of the Custer County Housing and Redevelopment Commission, and a volunteer with the Custer County Food Pantry and Storehouse, a 501(c)3 charitable organization headed by his wife, Kimberly. His dedication to helping others reflects his belief in building stronger communities through service.
Outside of his career and volunteerism, Allen enjoys a rich family life with wife Kimberly, their three adult children, and four grandchildren. Together, they embrace outdoor adventures and travel.
