After completing his graduate investment management degree at the University of Texas, John joined the Evergreen Group in 2011. He takes great pride in providing continuity to the client relationships which Phillip has built over the past four decades. While in graduate school, John interned at Dimensional Fund Advisors, a leading investment management firm with over $500 billion in assets. As one of the Evergreen Group’s Portfolio Managers, John is responsible for several of the team’s discretionary investment strategies including cash management, dividend & income, and a tactical ETF strategy. He also handles due diligence, portfolio design, and implementation for portfolios of illiquid investments with allocations to private equity, private debt, and private real estate. John completed the requirements to sit for the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ examination and earned his CFP® certification in March 2011. In August 2014, he earned the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) designation. He holds a Bachelor of Business and Master of Business from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas - Austin and a Master of Science degree in personal financial planning from Kansas State University.
As a person
John resides in San Antonio, Texas with his wife, Lindsey, their daughter, Lilah, their sons, Jack and James, and their French Brittany Spaniel, Gracie. John inherited his father’s love of the outdoors. Together, they have spent many afternoons on the salt flats around Rockport in search of speckled trout and redfish, or in the South Texas brush country hunting the elusive “Muy Grande.” John is also an avid golfer who has spent a great deal of time battling the pull hooks.
