Russell focuses on growing our branch and making it an exemplary office for outstanding client service. He graduated from Wake Forest University in 1985 with a BS in Mathematics and a minor in Computer Science. He became a registered representative in 1987 and has been in the financial services industry ever since. After completing the extensive curriculum required, he achieved the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification in 1993. Each year, he attends continuing education classes to keep his designation current. In college, he was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity and was Interfraternity Council President. He enjoys giving back to his community, and is proud to keep his branch involved in charitable endeavors. He has written articles for The Matthews Record magazine, and currently serves on the boards of the Counseling Center of Charlotte and East Mecklenburg High School Foundation. He is a Charlotte native, graduating from East Mecklenburg High School, and has remained in Charlotte with his wife, Missie, and their two daughters, Anna and Sarah. Russell and his family are active members of Providence Baptist Church, where he has taught several financial classes. He has coached youth sports for over 25 years, and recently was awarded the 2015 Christian Coach of the Year by the Playbook for Life, Youth Basketball League.
