Committed to giving back

At the Etergino Group, we believe that giving back to the community through volunteering and sponsorship can empower women, children, and the disadvantaged to shape a more prosperous local and global community. We contribute to the local and international community as financial advisors, mentors and sponsors through a number of organizations.

Collegiate Directions

Ann Marie is a dedicated financial mentor to low-income, primarily first-generation-to-college high school students participating in the non-profit organization Collegiate Directions. The organization aims to close the education, achievement and opportunity gap that these students face by offering college counseling, targeted tutoring, test preparation, study skills, leadership training, and ongoing support through high school and college.

Specifically, Ann Marie advises these students on saving, budgeting, using debt wisely, living within their means and the basics of investing through presentations and activities, such as a stock selection competition. Her expertise as a financial advisor serves as a vehicle to broaden the financial literacy of these children so that they may persevere despite the social and economic obstacles they may face.

Women for Women International

In 2010, upon the suggestion of a friend, Ann Marie embarked on her first journey to Rwanda to engage with marginalized women in the war-torn country with Women for Women International. There, she witnessed these women embracing skills in earning and saving money, developing health and well-being, influencing decisions in their homes and communities, and creating support networks in their communities. Ann Marie has sponsored a number of women through Women for Women International’s educational program, one of which has used her education to invest in a cow, goat, pig and phone.

Women for Women International creates sustainable change in these countries, significantly increasing the daily average income of these women. By bringing women together to learn life, business, and vocational skills, Women for Women International empowers women to create change for their own lives, their families’ lives, and the well-being of the community.
