Background

Les began his career in Chicago with Continental Illinois National Bank, where he developed expertise in portfolio management and investment strategy, learning the basics of balance sheet and income statement analysis as a junior lending officer.

After Continental Illinois, Les spent 13 years with Banc One Investment Advisors, where he was responsible for the firm’s portfolio management activities in the Southwest. During his tenure, Les served on national committees responsible for investment policy and asset allocation, and was vice chairman of the fixed income policy committee. He also managed the One Group Government Bond Fund during its first year of operation.

In 1997, Les joined RBC Wealth Management to help expand the firm’s presence in discretionary client portfolio management. Currently, he is a member of the Echelon Wealth program at RBC Wealth Management, a select group of financial advisors with exclusive access to a team of experienced specialists who assist in developing well-rounded, well-executed wealth management plans.

Education

Les earned a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois (1978), and an MBA in finance and accounting from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri (1980). He earned the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation in 1993. He is a member of the Association for Investment Management and Research and the Houston CFA® Society.

Personal

Les was born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio. He has made his home in Houston for nearly 45 years with his wife, Cindy (a native Houstonian). They have two grown daughters, Lauren and Lindsey, a son-in-law Marc, and two granddaughters, Reese and Blake.

Current Philanthropic Involvement

Les is actively involved in Houston’s philanthropic community, currently serving on the Board of Directors of the Houston Jewish Community Foundation. He also remains active with the Bad Pants Open, a golf tournament benefiting the Newborn Center at Texas Children’s Hospital (>$5mm to date), where he has participated on the organizing committee for over 25 years. He chaired the organizing committee for the Bad Pants Open in 2006 and 2007.

Les has played the drums since the age of 10 and continues to perform at local events. He has been the drummer for Night Court for over 25 years, an annual musical comedy show raising funds (>$1.5mm to date) for the legal needs of Houston’s most underserved citizens.

Past Service

Les has served on the boards of the CHRISTUS Foundation for Health Care and the Greater Houston Community Foundation, as well as the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of Houston’s Jewish Community Center. In 2016, he received the RBC Wealth Management National Volunteer of the Year award.

Marc has 13 years of experience in corporate finance and accounting and over seven years of investment and wealth planning experience at RBC Wealth Management. Marc will always remember when he started his career at RBC, as his first daughter had just been born!

Prior to joining RBC Wealth Management, Marc served as director of Financial Planning and Analysis and Strategic Planning for Ignite Restaurant Group in Houston. Prior to moving to Houston, he worked in the finance group at Twentieth Century Fox in Los Angeles and at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), in their Los Angeles and New York offices. Marc is a Certified Public Accountant and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting, with minors in economics and business administration from the University at Albany – State University of New York.

Marc's focus within our team is on portfolio management, investment research, cash flow planning, and the credit needs of our clients. Marc enjoys taking advantage of his previous background in accounting and finance to help clients achieve their personal financial goals. Marc takes great satisfaction when clients can realize their dreams, whether it is buying a new home, retiring, or gifting to charities and family.

Personal

Marc moved to Houston with his wife, Lauren (Les’s daughter), a native Houstonian, after living in Los Angeles and New York. Although Houston is most definitely home, he is working hard on passing his New York accent on to their daughters, Reese and Blake. Both Lauren and Marc are actively involved in their community with Horn Elementary School, little league, Texas Children’s Bad Pants Open, the Evelyn Rubenstein Jewish Community Center of Houston, and many other deserving organizations around Houston. Marc currently serves as a board member on the Jewish Community Center of Houston Endowment Fund and committee member on the Jewish Federation of Greater Houston’s Budget and Finance Committee, as well as on the organizing committee for the Texas Children’s Bad Pants Open.

When not working and volunteering, Marc spends his “free” time playing with his daughters and their recently adopted beagle (Pickles), managing his youngest daughter’s T-Ball team, training for half marathons and other endurance races, and enjoying the latest IPAs, while binge-watching his favorite shows with his family. For vacations, Marc likes to break away from Houston to the mountains to enjoy both summer and winter activities, as well as find live music venues that allow him to relive his formative years of music listening.

Brian joined RBC Wealth Management in 2023, bringing over a decade of experience in wealth planning and investment management. Prior to joining RBC Wealth Management, he served as managing member of Bergeron Wealth Management Co., LLC, where he directed day-to-day operations and provided clients with holistic investment management and wealth planning strategies. In 2018, Brian participated in Rice University's CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER certification program.

Prior to moving back to Houston, Brian spent eight years at Needham & Company in New York City, where he built a strong foundation in investment management and behavioral finance. Beginning as a fund accountant for the firm's private equity and hedge funds, he progressed to vice president of Needham Mutual Funds, where he focused his time on investment research and portfolio management initiatives. During this period, Brian developed a deep passion for value investing, fundamental investment underwriting, and learned to appreciate the behavioral dynamics of financial markets.

At RBC Wealth Management and Attune Financial Advisors, Brian leverages his dual expertise in investment management and cash flow planning to drive capital allocation, investment due diligence, and comprehensive planning on behalf of clients.

Brian holds a Bachelor of Science in Business and Economics with a focus on accounting from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Personal

After living in New York City for nearly a decade after college, Brian, a native Houstonian, jumped at the opportunity to move back to Texas. Brian, his wife, Stephanie, three children, Ella, Charlie, Ben and their dog, Bogie, live in West University Place.

Brian and Stephanie are actively involved in their community, holding leadership roles at local nonprofit organizations and volunteering at their children’s schools. When not at work, Brian can be found planning his family’s next road trip, exploring many of Houston’s vibrant new parks with his children, or training for his next triathlon. Although no longer living in Brooklyn, NY, Brian and his family continue their search for the world’s best pizza!
